Local TV newscast affected by malware: Are you vulnerable too?

On Twitter this morning I got a direct message from a local News Director, but it was a bit too friendly :

After few minutes, I found out that a few other members of the same TV News channel were infected. I’m still not sure if it came from a third party application, a mobile device or PC.

Tweetbuzz.us is now reporting 1763 tweets about news3channelz[dot]com (as of the time this blog was written).

My advice: stay away from those all-in-one social applications and always download official applications, even if they’re not really optimal most of the time .

And don’t forget the basic rules: always run AV software, and don’t ever give full permission to anyone on Facebook or any other social media site.
